For special occasions, I add eyeshadow and lipstick. I wear make-up to work so I look like a professional and get taken more seriously. It started as trying to be sure I looked like a girl the last time I cut my hair short a couple of years ago (before that I was a no make-up kind of girl 95% of the time), but has sort of stuck as a work-day habit. On weekends I only wear it if we're Going Out.
I use Bare Escentuals, so my foundation IS powder. Foundation, blush (they call it "Warmth"), and a finishing powder (they call it the "Mineral Veil"). I wear it mostly just to even things out and keep my face from getting too oily, though it also helps bring some color to my pale face and keeps me from looking less like a corpse. I also wear lipgloss/lipstick for color and moisture, though there's been an awful lot of kissing in my life over the past few months, so it doesn't stay on for very long. ;) Special occasions call for more dramatic lipstick, which I can only get away with at night. And I just this week started trying out mascara again, and while I generally think that eye makeup looks very silly behind glasses, I like the definition the mascara gives to my eyes.
My foundation is also powder - The Supernatural by Philosophy. It is also my sunscreen... the powder means that it doesn't burn my face. :) I wear gloss for moisture. Can't wear mascara because then my eyelashes hit the inside of my glasses.
I said "other" for the special occasions one because special occasions are the only times I wear makeup these days. I think I look better with it, since my skin is not so great, but I just never feel like I have the energy or interest.
I love make-up. I have a face that is transformed by it (pale brows and eyelashes) and I love really anything that lets me "create" myself.
I spend about 7 minutes total. I use Bare Minerals - but I don't like the 300 powders they want you to do with it, so I just do the foundation one, a swipe of blush, dab of a baby pink shimmery powder (the pale girl's bronzer) on my cheeks, dark brown eyeliner, a light blue shadow on my lower lashes, a red-brown powder so I have eyebrows, then black mascara, then a pink all-day lip color.
Me too! I sometimes wish it weren't such an extreme change, since it does marry me to the routine. I also feel like I make the jump from way below average to way above average with make-up.
I have a friend (with very low self-esteem) whom I've tried several times to makeover (as it's the most gratifying and instantaneous esteem booster), and she keeps saying make-up doesn't make a difference, and she's right. No matter how much I put on her - nothing looks especially different. It's like her face eats the make-up.
I wear every kind of makeup most days, and sleep in it when I'm at a boy's house because I feel like a hellbeast without it.
Not on your list: Brow powder. I brush it on.
For special occasions I wear fake eyelashes.
I also wear it because it's an easy way to remember (or not have to) sunblock, since many makeup products have SPF now (including some lip products.)
It wasn't so much a "fad" as my own delusion -- but I was allowed to wear mascara before I was allowed to wear eyeliner, and so I would try to apply it as eyeliner with the tip of the mascara wand. SO PRETTY.
I also used to augment glittery eyeshadow with tiny rhinestones.
It's usually a good idea to do what Egg says. Unless she wants you to call someone up at random and use a fake word like "assumptuous" during the phone conversation.

I didn't wear much makeup as a teen but in my 20's, during my punk years, I did the black lipstick and black nail polish thing.

But there are some days I wish I was average or slightly above average all the time, or that my looks were more tempered.
